Road trip to The Panari Resort Nyahururu.

Imagine this: We’re just out of an intense peak season, mentally drained, and invited on a road trip to the Panari Resort Nyahururu through our association TOSK. Excitement kicks in, and we’re off on a road trip adventure to Nyahururu. As we hit the road, our first stop is the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint, offering breathtaking panoramas.

Descending into Naivasha, we make a quick pitstop at Delamere shopping center, a famous spot named after Lord Delamere, offering a variety of fruits, vegetables, snacks, and treats.

The Lord Delamere Farm, situated in Naivasha, Kenya, holds historical significance as one of the oldest colonial farms in the region. Named after Lord Hugh Cholmondeley, the 3rd Baron Delamere, who played a prominent role in the early colonial period, the farm dates back to the early 20th century. Lord Delamere was a key figure in the development of the British East Africa Company and had a significant influence on the establishment of white settler communities in Kenya. He funded a lot of Joseph Thomson’s explorations.

As we traversed Nyandarua County, the picturesque landscapes unfolded, with the majestic Aberdare ranges providing a stunning backdrop. The scenery is adorned with sprawling farms, featuring cultivated fields of wheat, flourishing dairy farms, and vast areas dedicated to the cultivation of corn. The lush greenery and orderly rows of crops create a serene and idyllic countryside panorama. Nyandarua’s farms not only contribute to the region’s agricultural vitality but also offer a visual feast for those exploring the area

Our spontaneous selves decided to check out the Thomson Falls first before checking into the hotel. Thompson Falls, located near Nyahururu in Kenya, is a majestic waterfall renowned for its stunning 74-meter cascade along the Ewaso Ng’iro River. The falls were named after Joseph Thomson, a Scottish geologist and naturalist who explored the region in the late 19th century. Thomson played a significant role in surveying and mapping the area, and in his honor, this remarkable natural wonder came to be known as Thompson Falls. The falls offer a picturesque setting and are surrounded by lush landscapes. They have become a cultural and historical landmark in Kenya, attracting visitors with their beauty and tranquility.

Arriving at The Panari Resort Nyahururu, we are welcomed by traditional Agikuyu dancers, hot towels, and a refreshing drink. The touchdown is marvelous. After a delightful lunch, we’re checked into cozy cottage rooms with fireplaces for the chilly evenings.

Dinner was great! The staff’s care stood out, going above and beyond. One of us had a bloated stomach, and the chef made a remedy for her that worked like magic.

The day after was spent Exploring the hippo pools, sampling the sauna and heated pool, and hiking with elephants in the Marmanet forest, we realized two nights weren’t enough. Three nights or more are recommended to fully enjoy the hospitality of The Panari Resort Nyahururu, a 5-star experience in Nyandarua County. Thank you so much, Annerita Katsima, for making this trip possible, and to the whole Panari Team for their wonderful hospitality.

What better way to seal the partnership between Panari and the Tour Operators Society of Kenya?
