Innovations & Collaborations Mark TOSK 7th AGM

In the vibrant landscape of East African tourism, the Tour Operators Society of Kenya (TOSK) recently celebrated its 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM). This prestigious event brought together key industry players, setting the stage for innovation, collaboration, and the shaping of the tourism landscape in Kenya.

Distinguished personalities from the tourism sector graced the occasion, led by the esteemed Ps Tourism Hon.John Lekakeny Ololtuaa, Ambs Director General Ecitizen, Mr.Nobert Talam, Director General Tourism Regulatory Authority, Mr. John ChirChir Acting CEO Kenya Tourism Board, and Representatives from the Tourism Fund and Kenya Wildlife Service. In her presence was also the chairperson of the Kenya Association of Women in Tourism Mdm.Jane Adam. The AGM provided a platform for industry giants to share insights and strategies for the advancement of the tourism sector.

The event featured an impressive lineup of exhibitors showcasing diverse offerings within the tourism industry. The airline and hospitality industries were well represented. Jambojet, Panari Hotels, Sentrim Hotels, Jacaranda Beach Watamu, Tulia Amboseli, Kenya Comfort Hotels, Pelican, and Olmoran Lodges were all exhibited.

Notably, Isuzu Kenya presented a unique short-chased overland vehicle tailored for local tourism, while RSA demonstrated its expertise in converting Land Cruisers into comfortable safari vehicles. Together, they demonstrated a commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the industry.

The travel and tour industry is undergoing a paradigm shift with the infusion of innovative technologies. This transformation is significantly altering the landscape of how travel and tour companies conduct their operations, promising a more efficient and enhanced experience for businesses and travelers alike. Leading online software companies, such as Wetu, Twigaa AI, Travel Mos Mos, and PesaSwap took the spotlight.

The highlight of the AGM was the call from the Tourism Ps to KTB to incorporate all trade partners for the collective marketing of unique hosting experiences in Magical Kenya. This visionary move aims to leverage the exposure of authentic experiences, fostering collaboration among stakeholders for the greater good of the industry. As the AGM concluded, a new chapter unfolded with the election of leaders who will spearhead TOSK into the future. The association expressed its best wishes to the newly elected team, poised to lead with innovation, collaboration, and a shared vision for the growth and sustainability of Kenya’s tourism sector.

The TOSK AGM 2022 will be remembered as a pivotal moment where innovations and collaborations took center stage, setting the tone for a dynamic and promising future in East African tourism.
